Sample Reconciliations

On the left are links to the 24 different Sample Reconciliations. These encompass all Account Types and all Reconciliation Types available in RecWizard. Simply click on the account name to go to that particular reconciliation.

Each Sample Reconciliation will give you examples of reconciling items and how to document them. They will also demonstrate the documentation of the accounting principles and procedures that you should adhere to in recording transactions in your general ledger.

These reconciliations are included in the database titled "RecWizardTutorialReconciliations.mdb". This database is located in the same directory where you installed the RecWizard program. To access these reconciliations you will click on the Change database location menu item and select the RecWizardTutorialReconciliations.mdb.

If you utilize the RecWizardTutorialReconciliations.mdb database, remember to change back to your regular database before you begin preparing your reconciliations. The default name for the regular database is Blank.mdb. You can set up as many databases as you like. Simply use normal Windows techniques to copy and paste and name the database whatever you like.

You can also use the RecWizardTutorialReconciliations.mdb database to practice setting up accounts and entering transactions. If you're not sure what Reconciliation Type you want to use for an account, you could set up the account in the RecWizardTutorialReconciliations.mdb database two or three times using the different Reconciliation Types you are considering. Enter some sample information and see what Reconciliation Type works best for you.

If there is confusion about any particular reconciliation, please remember to double check your understanding of the particular Reconciliation Type and Account Type that the reconciliation refers to.
